what is Fine Art school photography?
Fine Art School Photography is all about capturing the personality of every child and this is what many parents tell me that they love about the images of their child.
There are no forced smiles. No awkward poses or faces. Just the authentic child on the day.
Portraits are shot on a classical black background to create natural and timeless images with all the focus on the child's face and expression.
how many schools do you photograph each year?
I only take on a limited number of schools or early childhood centres each year.
I keep the number limited so I can offer a personalised, friendly service to every school and early childhood centre and create authentic and artistic portraits for parents.
I am happy to work with schools and centres to create a custom service that fits your unique needs.
how do we book?
It's very easy. Simply get in touch to find out what availability I have in my calendar.
Once you're in my calendar you will be offered the same date slot every year.
are these images expensive?
I offer competitive rates with a good range of a-la-carte prints and collections to fit a wide range of budgets.
Nothing is due upfront and parents are under no obligation to make an order.
will anything be given to the school?
Your school will be gifted their own copy of each class photo and the staff photo.
I can also provide a digital file of each child's portrait (for internal school use only).
what will we have to do?
My goal is to make the whole experience as easy and simple as possible for your school. I know how busy all your staff are and that you want to disrupt the school day as little as possible.
I will come to your school 3-4 weeks before shoot day to find the best location to use.
All communication to go to parents and caregivers before and after the shoot will be created by me. All you will have to do is send it to your email list.
On the shoot day itself I bring all my own gear. For larger schools I bring my own assistant to help with managing children. At smaller schools I am happy to work with an older pupil (they love the responsibility) or a school parent in exchange for free photos of their child.
In my experience it is better if preschools provide a staff member to assist during the photos as the younger children will be more comfortable having someone they know around.
how is the ordering done?
All ordering and payment is done via an online gallery which is accessible via a mobile phone or a computer. The school will NOT have to manage orders or collect money.
Any questions from families are handled directly by me.
Prints will be delivered to the school individually packaged ready for parents to collect.
what time of year can we have our school photos?
School and preschool photos are taken during school terms. I will work with your school to find dates that work best for your school programme.
Please be in touch to organise a date as early as possible as I have limited availability as work with a small, select group of schools to be able to provide the best possible service and experience that I can.
do you photograph siblings?
Yes, along with the individual portraits I will photograph siblings. The school will need to provide a list of siblings.
what about siblings not at the school or preschool?
I am happy to photograph siblings who are not at the same school, but will work with the school or centre on if they want to offer this option.
They are usually photographed early in the morning and it is up to parents if they want to bring other siblings along.
