Coronavirus safety

Updated: Jun 10, 2020

May 2020 update

Photoshoots are underway again!

Family, pets and headshots are all able to be photographed safely while still maintaining our distance. Distance is managed by using my 'long lens' to shoot with - I'm usually at a minimum of 2m away when using this lens.

Sadly, my favourite 35mm lens which lets me get right up close among the action will have to stay in the drawer until Alert Level 1.

The long lens, however, produces beautiful dreamy backgrounds and is an extremely flattering lens!

Hygiene is still of the utmost importance, with hand washing and sanitising before and after shoots. All equipment is also wiped down with a bleach solution between shoots.

I look forward to seeing you in front of my camera!

Previously

The situation relating to Covid-19 in New Zealand is changing day by day and every family must react to the current climate in whatever feels right for them.

For Edith Leigh Photography my priority is for you and your family’s safety, along with my own and my family and all the older and vulnerable people in our community.

Current government advice is for people who are showing symptoms or have been in contact with an infected person to self-isolate for two weeks.

If you have an appointment for a shoot or a viewing and ordering session and you or anyone in your family feels unwell, please postpone or cancel immediately, and rest assured I will certainly be doing the same.

If you have to cancel your session fee will be automatically refunded.

At this stage I am still doing outdoor photoshoots. Being outdoors makes social distancing much easier and more natural. I am approaching the way I do my shoots a little differently with no body contact. I think my direction will get a lot better when I can't physically show people where to place their body parts!

After each shoot all my equipment is wiped down with an alcohol solution.

I am currently reviewing how to conduct my viewing and ordering sessions and looking into options to do these online so they can still go ahead whether we are all at home or not.

Naturally I am following government recommendations to take extra care with hand-washing, and while it goes against my natural grain, to not hug or shake hands.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Look after yourselves and your family (and keep washing those hands!).

Thank you, Edith
